This course is designed to cover all the content included in our private classroom teacher training, but completed as a self-study course. Choose when and where you complete the course, enabling you to fit in study around busy timetables and other commitments. Available Spring 2024.

1/2 DAY • 5-21 ATTENDEES PER GROUP • AT YOUR SCHOOL

Run this training privately, in-person at your school. The course will be delivered by one of our experienced trainers at your school, with the option to couple together with other local schools, with the opportunity for you to engage in discussions, activities and ask questions throughout.

    1. Module 1 – Who’s in your classroom. Looking at the makeup of your classroom, your learner profile and the challenges you face when EAL/ESL students are expected to study in the same class as students who speak English fluently.

    2. Module 2 – Challenges EAL learners face in the classroom. Myth-busting - understanding concepts vs understanding the language.

    3. Module 3 – Classroom Management. Looking at the importance of embedding EAL strategies and techniques into the learning content.

    4. Module 4 – Teaching Vocabulary. Exploring vocabulary tiers within the classroom.

    5. Module 5 – Teaching Grammar. A look at some of the key grammar areas.

    6. Module 6 – Pronunciation. We will consider some of the problem sounds in English and how we can help your students understand and pronounce correctly.

    7. Module 7 - Receptive and Productive Skills. In addition to grammar and vocabulary, your students will also need to master the 4 skills in English so this module will look at what resources we can use and how to help them achieve this.

  • All attendees will receive an electronic UK-TEFL certificate.

WHO ARE UK-TEFL?

We are the UK’s leading TEFL trainers. We have gained many years’ experience in the English teaching profession and all members of our dedicated training team have a minimum of three years’ post-qualification, overseas English teaching experience. Our management team has been involved in TEFL training for well over a decade.

WHO CAN ATTEND THE COURSE?

This course is suitable for teachers and teaching assistants in any subject area across both primary and high school.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN ATTEND A COURSE?

5-21 attendees- we require a minimum of 5 attendees to run our classroom courses, and we can accommodate larger numbers of 21+ by running a number of separate groups.

WHAT WILL THE ATTENDEES NEED TO BRING TO THE COURSE?

All they will need to bring is a pen and paper to take notes.

WHAT DOES THE SCHOOL NEED TO PROVIDE?

A classroom, flipcharts and pens.

WHAT ARE THE TIMINGS OF THE COURSE?

Our courses generally run 9am-5pm each day, but can be adapted to suit your school’s needs.

ARE ALL TRAINERS DBS CHECKED?

Yes, all trainers hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.

WILL UK-TEFL SUPPLY ADVERTISING MATERIALS?

We can supply you with flyers upon request. All advertising materials are free of charge.

DOES A SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE NEED TO BE ON SITE?

We ask that a school representative is there on day one to meet and greet your trainer.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT PROCESS?

Once you have the minimum number of 5 attendees confirmed, we can then send across your booking form to get the dates confirmed with your trainer. At this point your school will be invoiced for the deposit amount (5 attendees) for your chosen course type. An alternative option is for your school to be supplied with an online link where attendees can pay for their course individually with their debit/credit card.
