This course aims to help support teachers with ESL and EAL students in their class, looking at the challenges these students face when studying different subjects in English and how you can support and help them with their language learning. Choose between our e-learning or classroom course.
E-Learning Course
Proficient Professional Development Learning Course in ESL/EAL Support Training for Teachers
Created to support EAL students, this course is designed to cover all the content included in our private classroom teacher training, but completed as a self-study course. Choose when and where you complete the course, enabling you to fit in study around busy timetables and other commitments.

Module 1 – Who’s in your classroom. Looking at the makeup of your classroom, your learner profile and the challenges you face when EAL/ESL students are expected to study in the same class as students who speak English fluently.
Module 2 – Challenges EAL learners face in the classroom. Myth-busting - understanding concepts vs understanding the language.
Module 3 – Classroom Management. Looking at the importance of embedding EAL strategies and techniques into the learning content.
Module 4 – Teaching Vocabulary. Exploring vocabulary tiers within the classroom.
Module 5 – Teaching Grammar. A look at some of the key grammar areas.
Module 6 – Pronunciation. We will consider some of the problem sounds in English and how we can help your students understand and pronounce correctly.
Module 7 - Receptive and Productive Skills. In addition to grammar and vocabulary, your students will also need to master the 4 skills in English so this module will look at what resources we can use and how to help them achieve this.

As part of your course, you’ll complete a final task designed to help you reflect on your learning. The submission has a word count of 500 words.
You’ll also complete short multiple choice quizzes at the end of each module to check your understanding of the course.

All attendees will receive an electronic UK-TEFL certificate.
(Option to upgrade to a hard copy TQUK endorsed certificate). -
You’ll be automatically enrolled onto the course after you checkout. You’ll be sent an email with all the information you’ll need to get set up.
You’ll have 90 days access to complete the course. The course is based off 20 hours of guided learning - this includes all the course content.

Private Classroom Training

The course will be delivered by one of our experienced trainers at your school, with the option to couple together with other local schools, with the opportunity for you to engage in discussions, activities and ask questions throughout.

WHO ARE UK-TEFL?
We are one of the UK’s leading TEFL trainers. We have gained many years’ experience in the English teaching profession and all members of our dedicated training team have a minimum of three years’ post-qualification, overseas English teaching experience. Our management team has been involved in TEFL training for well over a decade.
WHO CAN ATTEND THE COURSE?
This course is suitable for teachers and teaching assistants in any subject area across both primary and high school.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN ATTEND A COURSE?
5-21 attendees per session. We require a minimum of 5 attendees to run our classroom/live online courses. We can accommodate larger numbers of 21+ by running a number of separate groups.
WHAT WILL THE ATTENDEES NEED TO BRING TO THE COURSE?
A pen and paper to take notes.
WHAT DOES THE SCHOOL NEED TO PROVIDE?
A classroom, flipcharts and pens for our classroom courses. For live online and e-learning, attendees will require a computer/tablet, and a good internet speed.
WHAT ARE THE TIMINGS OF THE COURSE?
Classroom Course/Live Online:
9am-4:30pm (Can be adjusted to suit your school’s timetable).
Online Course:
You’ll have 90 days access to complete the course. The course is based off 20 hours of guided learning.
ARE ALL TRAINERS DBS CHECKED?
Yes, all trainers hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
HOW CAN I ARRANGE A TRAINING COURSE AT MY SCHOOL?
Reserve some potential dates on the website and we will be in touch, or contact your TEFL coordinator directly for more information.
WHAT IS THE PAYMENT PROCESS?
For private courses, once you have the minimum number of 5 attendees confirmed, we can then send across your booking form to get the date confirmed with your trainer. At this point your school will be invoiced for the deposit amount (5 attendees). An alternative option is for your school to be supplied with an online link where attendees can pay for their course individually with their debit/credit card.
For our e-learning course, you can self-enrol using the link provided above. We do also offer the option to pay via invoice if this is preferred.
