UK-TEFL is here to guide your certification and job-hunting process until you achieve the traveling professional lifestyle of your dreams! Here are some of the most common enquiries we receive from our customers.

How long do I get to complete the course?

For our 150 Hour & 180 Hour Interactive Online TEFL Courses, you will have 180 days to complete your course. For the 100 Hour & 120 Hour Courses, you will have 90 days to complete your course. For our 40 Hour Refresher Course and the Specialist Modules, you will have 60 days to complete the course. If you have not completed your course after this time, you can purchase a 30 day extension for £19 from our shop.

How long does the online TEFL course take?

We have various course options - 100 Hour, 120 Hour, 150 Hour and 180 Hour. The exact length of time it takes to complete varies from person to person. It depends on how much time you devote to it and how quickly you grasp the content.

Where can I access the course?

The course is compatible with laptops, computers, mobile phones and tablets. So you can learn at home or on the go! You can also download the Litmos LMS app for free and access the course from there. Please note homework tasks must be completed offline and require a desktop. However, don't worry if you don't have the ability to do this, just let us know and we'll be happy to upload your tasks for you.

When will I get access to my TEFL course?

You'll get access to the course from the moment you sign up, just check your inbox for an email from Litmos with your login details. Please be aware that there might be some delays in accessing the course for the first time over the weekend and bank holidays.

Do I have to live in the UK to take this course?

The course is online and can be accessed from any laptop, computer, mobile phone, or tablet, which means that you don't have to live in the UK to take the course.

Is there an age limit on who can enroll in an online TEFL course?

UK-TEFL’s course is aimed at anyone; therefore, there are no age restrictions.

Are any particular qualifications required to enroll in the course?

You don't need any qualifications or teaching experience - as long as you can speak English fluently you can take this course.

Do I need to know grammar to take this course?

You don't need any knowledge of grammar prior to taking the course, as it is covered during the course.

Do I need any books to take the course?

You don't need any books to take the course. The course does present you with recommended reading - including books and websites - which you may want to consider taking a look at.

Are there any materials to accompany the course?

You will be provided with reference materials throughout the course, these include help sheets and tasks for you to complete. Although not essential, we would highly recommend purchasing our Absolute TEFL Manual. It contains everything any new EFL student will need.

Is there a TEFL exam?

There are mini quizzes and assessments throughout the course for you to complete. These can be repeated as many times as you wish. Module 10 also includes a final assessment, which can only be taken once. To pass the course, you must achieve 75% on every quiz and assessment.

There are tasks to complete at the end of Modules 1-9 of the course. You will be given an exercise to complete offline and upload. These are mandatory to progress through the course, but ungraded.

What type of questions will I get asked on the TEFL assessments?

Mini quizzes present you with 3-5 questions to answer of varying styles. These could include multiple choice, sorting, matching, free writing or true and false questions. Assessments give you a mix of multiple choice questions and questions that require you to type a keyword or phrase into the box given. All questions are based on the content of the course.

What happens if I fail the final assessment?

If you do not pass the final assessment, you can purchase one additional attempt for £12 from our shop.

Is UK-TEFL an accredited training provider?

Yes, UK-TEFL is a platinum Approved Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) Centre. Our 100, 120, 150 and 180 Hour Interactive Online TEFL Courses are endorsed by TQUK. TQUK is a national awarding body and is regulated by Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).

Do I receive a certificate upon completion of the course?

If you have taken our 100 Hour Interactive Online TEFL Course or one of our individual specialist modules, you are able to download your electronic certificate from the achievements section in your profile.

Upon completion of our 120, 150 and 180 Hour TEFL Courses, your graded assignments will be marked by one of our team and you will be sent an email with your grade and certificate.

You can purchase a hard copy for £15, which includes UK P&P. You can upgrade your certificate to a TQUK endorsed certificate, issued from the national awarding body TQUK. The certificate includes a course module statement and costs £39 (including UK P&P). Please note: If you live outside of the UK, you will be required to pay an extra £2.95 for overseas postage.

Is TEFL a recognised qualification?

A TEFL certificate is recognised worldwide and will qualify you to teach English as a foreign language abroad or privately in the UK. The certificate has no expiry date, so will last you a lifetime.

How do I pay for my course?
