Child Protection Policy
UK-TEFL is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children completing online and in-person UK-TEFL courses. UK-TEFL recognises the responsibility to promote safe practice and to protect children from harm, abuse and exploitation. For the purpose of this policy, a child is recognised as someone under the age of 18.
This page outlines UK-TEFL’s commitment to protecting children.
These guidelines are based on the following principles:
The welfare of children is the primary concern.
All children, whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, socio-economic status, religious belief and/or sexual identity have the right to protection from all forms of harm and abuse.
Children have the right to learn in a safe environment.
UK-TEFL confirm:
Safe recruitment is practiced, ensuring trainers ID’s have been checked upon employment and enhanced DBS checks are in place.
There are no disclosures indicated on the enhanced DBS certificates that would cause concern in allowing trainers employed by UK-TEFL to be unsupervised with students.
A copy of the trainer’s enhanced DBS check will be sent to the organiser of the course.
Trainers are informed to bring photo ID when running in person training courses.
Steps to protect children will be taken when a safeguarding concern of any kind arises.
Monitoring:
The policy will be reviewed yearly, or in the following circumstances:
Changes in legislation and/or government guidance.
As a result of any other significant change or event.
