Top TEFL Destinations for 2017!

The world is full of amazing countries to explore, and a TEFL qualification gives you the perfect opportunity to do this whilst earning money. You will find demand for EFL teachers in most non-English-speaking countries due to English being seen as the ‘global language’, so take your pick!

This week we have selected our favourite TEFL destinations for 2017. Maybe our choices will give you some inspiration for your own travels!

If you’re looking for sea and sun, then Spain is the place for you! Spain is very popular with TEFL graduates due to the high demand for EFL teachers. You may find work in schools, businesses or even at summer camps. One thing is for sure, you will want to spend your days off lying in the sun!

Italy is an extremely popular destination for TEFL graduates – and it’s not hard to see why with its beautiful landscape, buildings, and not to mention the delicious food! Opportunities for EFL teachers are available, and are increasing in some areas. The majority of positions are concentrated in the smaller towns in Sicily, Sardinia, in the Dolomites and along the Adriatic.

Fancy going a little further afield than Europe? Then Brazil may be for you! Brazil is home to some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes and beaches, and with so many festivals and events, you will always be able to find something to do on your days off. Be sure to visit The Amazon whilst you are there, the world’s largest rainforest, and be at one with nature!

Always wanted to visit Japan? Your TEFL qualification could give you the perfect opportunity! Japan is popular with TEFL grads and you are often required to have a degree in order to apply for jobs. If you have a degree and a TEFL qualification, the door could be open to some extremely well paid jobs (although the cost of living is high in Japan’s cities). One thing is for sure, you will never be bored in Japan, with its busy cities, dazzling temples and mouth watering cuisine!

You will have seen the increasing popularity of Thailand amongst Westerners, and it’s easy to see why by simply looking at an image of one of its tropical beaches! If you like a slower pace of life and want to spend your days off visiting ornate palaces and temples, then Thailand may be the perfect destination for you.
