UK-TEFL Course Assessment

In order to pass a UK-TEFL course, you will be assessed during the course by your trainer. This is a practical assessment, where you will participate in group teaching practices that are designed to allow you to test what you have learnt in order to reinforce your understanding.

You will be assessed by your trainer to ensure you meet measured learning outcomes on completion of your course. To allow for progression during the course, your final teaching practice will be the one that counts towards you passing the course. You must demonstrate all of the following elements:

  • Use of target language
  • Encouraging high student talk time
  • Fun and engaging lesson
  • Clear presentation
  • The flow of lesson from one activity to the next
  • Maintaining a positive learning atmosphere
  • Achievement of the main lesson objectives
  • Lesson organised effectively
  • Clarity of handouts, pictures and board work
