Why did you choose to do a UK-TEFL course?
I chose to do a UK-TEFL course so that I could travel the world and teach.
How did you find the course?
The course was great! My partner suggested TEFL to me, and I researched the courses online before booking onto the February course in Brighton.
Would you recommend the course to others?
Without a doubt! It´s fantastic, educational and opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
What was the best part of the course?
I especially enjoyed learning new skills and discovering aspects of exactly what makes a good EFL teacher. It was great to be able to exchange ideas with the other participants and prepare our activities in groups.
Where do you plan to teach English?
Right now I plan to teach in Spain. I am moving over there in the spring from my current home in Iceland.
Why have you chosen this destination?
I chose this destination because I love Spain. I am primarily moving there to be closer to my partner who lives there, but it will also be great to live and work in a warmer climate than back home in Iceland! I am looking forward to experiencing a new culture too.
What is the most interesting/helpful thing you learnt on the course?
That if you have the will and way, anything is possible. TEFL is a huge network that I plan to use and the opportunities that it provides have the potential to change my life.
Are you going to keep in touch with other students and trainer?
I am already in touch with a couple of the students and the trainer, Gemma, was amazing so I´d say yes all the way!
What are your long term goals or ambitions?
My main aim is to live abroad and teach English. In the long term, I hope to develop my teaching methods and build my confidence. Equally, I intend to do plenty of travelling along the way, to see the world and teach wherever I go!
Can you give any advice to those thinking about doing a course?
Just do it, and use it. It can’t go wrong if the passion is there at the start.
Have you done any travelling? Any travelling tips?
I have travelled a lot, and have lived both in the UK and Iceland. My advice is to take care and most of all, enjoy it!
