Programme Details
The first step anyone wanting to apply for this position is to take a UK-TEFL 2 or 3 day course at one of our many locations throughout the UK.
This placement is taking applications immediately for newly qualified UK-TEFL teachers to work in Sri Lanka; Colombo, Galle and Jaffna.

You will be working 36 hours a week, and will receive Rs. 25000 a month. On top of this you will receive basic accommodation and a return ticket for the completion of a one year contract.
Working primarily with young adults aged between 16 and 25 years, this includes professionals, housewives etc.
The contract is for one year.
In Sri Lanka, English is still perceived as the language of the privilege classes as it is largely inaccessible to the masses. It is often claimed to be the preserve of the Western educated elite.
The teaching of English language in the State schools’ curriculum also became nearly obsolete, which resulted in the masses being denied a broader education, impacting heavily upon their social and economic development at micro and macro levels. The good news is that since the end of the three decade conflict in Sri Lanka in 2009, there has been a surge of interest in learning English as it will play an important role in the post war development efforts and in reconciliation, rehabilitation and reconstruction plans.
English can be the link language for social integration and most definitely the stepping stone for tertiary education. Well paid jobs ensure social and economic advancement for those who are fluent in the language and can help alleviate poverty.
Salary Details : Rs. 25,000 a month
