How do I go about getting a job in Saudi Arabia?
There are specific sites on the internet that can help you find work here and some positions offer a very attractive salary.

A good way of finding work in Saudi Arabia is through the European Centre for Languages & Training www.theeuropeancentre.com who can find mostly long term placements, some of which include free furnished accommodation and flights.

It is worthwhile remembering that the law in Saudi Arabia is very strict, and religion plays are major role in the lifestyle. Visitors should be aware of the law and remain sensitive to religious beliefs at all times.

Where do EFL teachers live?
Most of the job contracts include fully furnished accommodation but check the specifications of the job description. You will also find some contracts include flight allowance, medical insurance and paid holidays amongst other perks.

Do I need to learn/speak Arabic?
It would be an advantage for working in Saudi Arabia to be able to speak Arabic, although it is not essential.

What is the food like?
Traditionally, popular foods are flat bread and dates and the most common meats eaten by Saudis are chicken and lamb. A popular Saudi speciality to look out for is a dish called Kultra, made from chicken or lamb...definitely worth a try!

What will I do in the evenings, on days off or on my holidays?
A trip out to Jeddah is well worth doing as it is the most cosmopolitan city here and is located on the Red Sea. The reasons for visiting are the great museums and one of the best markets in the Kingdom. If you enjoy doing more outdoor activities you could go hiking and camping in the country’s deserts. Also, if you are a football fan you will love being in Saudi Arabia as this is the most popular sport.
