Why is there a demand for English teachers?
The aftermath of the 2011 revolution in Egypt has yet to bring about the changes that many Egyptians were hoping to achieve, but learning English remains in demand. Many students at computer training schools or tourism training centres are looking for private tuition, which is a great avenue for successful TEFL students to explore.
English teachers are in demand not only from students, but also from anyone wanting to improve their English. Do not be surprised if you are approached by people asking if you can teach them English as this happens quite often, and is a great way for work to find you! EFL teachers working in Egypt often mention the diverse range of students they teach, with various religions and ways of thinking that they encounter whilst there, which allows for some lively lessons!
